I wanted to let you know how pleased we are about our experience with El Camino Trailways. The price was good, the vehicle was great, and the driver, Artache, was the BEST!!!! I can't brag about him enough. He went beyond his role of "bus driver" and incorporated the human aspect and really took care of us and our thirty-nine twelve year olds. As a student-athlete with lots on my plate, El Camino Trailways provided the responsive, flexible, and friendly service that put me, as well as my teammates, at ease every time we stepped on the motor-coach. From our last minute schedule changes to prompt pick-up, the people at El Camino Trailways were always ready to assist me in getting to our games without any extra worries. Everybody from the drivers, to the dispatchers, to the account executives understood that as a student-athlete, I had a full spectrum of responsibilities, and they did everything they could to respect that and help me to best schedule and plan for our season. The employees of El Camino Trailways didn't make themselves strangers, sending scheduled updates of the itinerary and their congratulations after every successful roadtrip.

27 members of TANG started 2007 right, by spending the first week of January in the Bay Area, visiting seven of the West Coast's finest companies to network, learn about internship opportunities, and explore the city. We had a really great turnout and appreciate everybody that came on the trip who made it such a success. These companies are doing wonderful things and they were generous enough to take time to present some of their work to us, network with us, and answer our questions. We were welcomed with open arms at eBay, Google, Intel, Visa, Wells Fargo, BEA, and Genentech, from whom we learned about a range of topics- everything from click fraud and cancer medications, to the history of the microprocessor and the gold discovery in 1848 was covered (including the etymology of the term "shotgun," being derived from the person sitting next to a stage coach driver).

Our own stage coach, better known as the El Camino Trailways' bus, chauffeured us in style to our various destinations so that we could relax on the way to visit companies, and drink with the alumni that visited with us on Thursday night. We really appreciated the opportunity to learn from a really distinguished and diverse group of alumni that took time out of their busy schedules to come out for the event in Palo Alto, so we would like to extend a big TANG thank-you to them for helping make it so successful. A few prospective students even showed up to ask questions and learn more about Stern firsthand from students. It was a great way to end a busy day visiting companies to see a different side of the Bay Area.

Between all the trekking, learning, and socializing, we still managed to find time to explore the city and its surrounding areas. Some people were treated to their first In-N-Out Burger experience, which provided much needed mid-week munching, dined in style in the financial district and nearby Ferry Building Marketplace. We capped the trip off with sake, sushi and such at Umami on Friday in San Francisco.

To the companies, alumni, and students, thanks so much for making this a great event. TANG will look forward to another successful outing to the West Coast next year!
